The SoSu Contour Palette has been the talk of the beauty world these past few weeks. Designed by Irish blogger Suzanne Jackson, this palette contains everything you need to create that super popular contoured look. Comprising of three cream contour shades, two contour powders and a cream highlighter; this palette seems like it would suit pros and beginners alike. This really appealed to me because I’ve been so curious about contouring for a while now but I hadn’t a clue where to start! I plan to try this out over the weekend and I’ll be sure to report back as soon as I’ve put it to good use!
I have a little story that goes with my purchasing of this palette — one that I’m sure many readers will relate to so I thought I’d share! When the Sosu Contour Palette launched online and in shops across Ireland, it was selling out everywhere in record time. When I checked in my local pharmacies, I was so disappointed to find that they didn’t have any left — and wouldn’t be getting in any more for months to come.
As soon as I got home, I had a little browse on Social Media and came across a tip from one of Sue’s followers that the CH Chemist in Tralee still had some in stock. I quickly tracked it down and had it in my virtual basket within seconds. Then I discovered that there was a €5 delivery charge on orders under €40. Now Tralee, located in lovely county Kerry, is on the other side of the country for me. I couldn’t very well just pop down so of course it had to be delivered…but I felt that five euro could be put to better use. Please tell me I’m not the only person that will happily buy anything online — but then deliberate over whether it’s worth the cost of delivery?!
The palette costs €29.95 so I’ll just buy something for a little over a tenner and I’ll get free delivery, I explained to my other half.
But you’ll still end up spending more, why not just pay the fiver?, he queried.
I could do that or I could put that fiver towards another product. That makes more sense because I can find something I need to get anyway, I rationed in return.
I browsed for a bit and then I started to panic in case the palette wasn’t safe in my virtual basket.
What if I’m taking too long and they give it to someone else?!
I wanted to make up my mind as soon as possible. Then I spotted the Lancôme Grandiôse Mascara. With its stunning packaging featuring a black rose and its swan-neck-style wand, I was convinced. I had (honestly!) been wanting a high-end mascara to keep for special occasions and this just looked too perfect. It went straight in my basket and I was ready to check-out. As it turned out, the mascara cost €30 — more than the palette itself — but hey, at least I got two things I really wanted…and my free delivery! 😉
