Even though it’s very much still winter outside, I’ve been craving lighter and brighter colours. Browsing in Boot’s recently, I decided to pick up a fun new lipstick and I chose Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Velvet in the shade Peach Club. It’s a beautiful red-orange which has a proper Spring/Summer feel to it.
It comes with a soft spongy applicator but I actually prefer to apply this with my fingertip. It’s extremely pigmented so using the applicator leaves you with pretty vibrant lips — which look great but are a little bit much for daytime! However you choose to apply, it’s got this velvety texture with a matte finish that I really adore.
Although this product claims to be non-drying, I don’t find that to be the case at all. I always have to apply lip balm before using this — without it, the colour appears cracked-looking within an hour! It’s a really gorgeous shade though so it’s worth the little bit of extra effort. It lasts reasonably well too, I can get 4-5 hours wear per application. Overall, I’m really liking this new lipstick of mine and I plan to wear it regularly — throughout the cold and grey days to come and beyond!
