My First #PSL

You know when you’re browsing social media and you keep seeing people raving about the same thing over and over again? Well — if you’re anything like me — your curiosity will be piqued and you might eventually just cave in to see what all the fuss is about! I could pretend I’m not that easily influenced but some things really do just get to me…

So this week, I tried my first ever Pumpkin Spice Latte. If I had a euro for every time I’d seen that drink mentioned online just over this past month, I’d probably have enough to pay for grandes-to-go for the rest of autumn.

I stopped in to Starbucks on Tuesday morning and ordered this illustrious drink as well as a cinnamon swirl because I’d missed breakfast and also yum. I chose to sit in but my coffee was still served in the new autumnal takeaway cup (which I was obviously pleased about because look how cute it is!). I grabbed a seat by the window and once I had taken the obligatory snaps, I finally got to try what has to be one of the most Instagrammed drinks of all time!

First reaction? Hmm yeah it’s nice…I liked it. Warm and milky with a hint of spice, it was perfectly pleasant. I drank it all and it went really well with the pastry beside it. All in all, a positive experience!

So I enjoyed my first Pumpkin Spice Latte and I probably would order another one before the season is out but I can’t say I’m suddenly addicted! I mean I remember trying frappachinos for the first time and being totally instantly besotted (all that sugar and cream? Yes, please!). Still, it’s always good to try new things and I’m happy I gave this one a go. Next on my list: Mac lipsticks (are they really that amazing?! I guess I’ll find out soon enough!).

  1. I had the first one I ever liked about a week ago. My husband was being nice & thought I’d love one. I quickly said I thing they are disgusting only to my surprise when I took a sip it was actually good!! It must be the “real” pumpkin they are using now. Whatever they changed it was a hit for me! I’d be a zombie -walking PSL lover if it wasn’t for the price of those things 🙂

  2. I generally don’t like pumpkin, but I gave the PSL a shot a few years ago. I haven’t tried it since. Now…white peppermint mochas on the other hand? I get at least one of those every winter.
