We finally got Netflix! I have no idea why we didn’t get this sooner. We signed up to it earlier this week and since I’ve been mostly on the sofa nursing my neck (which is much better now, thank God!), I’ve had plenty of time to have a decent browse of it. I’ve compiled a list of the TV series and films I’m planning on watching/rewatching very soon. Any recommendations, I’d love to hear them!
Once Upon a Time
I’d seen an episode here and there of this TV series but I’ve decided to start from the start and properly get in to it. It tells the story of classic fairytale characters who have been frozen in time and live in the modern day town of Storybrooke. I’m not even halfway through the first season and I’m already hooked!
Pretty Little Liars
I have yet to see a single episode of this show and it’s something like five seasons in?! I’ve heard so much about it, especially over the past few months, and I’m curious now to find out what all the fuss is about!
A number of people, who had been presumed dead after disappearing some years earlier, suddenly return to their town. To me, this sounds like The 4400 which I loved so I have high hopes for this particular series!
L is a big fan of this show about a detective who finds out he’s also destined to protect people from supernatural creatures. I’ve slowly been getting in to it — L’s on Season 3 though so I have some catching up to do!
Sons of Anarchy
All about a motorcycle gang in California, this is another series that I’ve discovered through L. I only caught on to it when he was on the last season so I’ve actually already seen the series finale! Still, I missed the main chunk of it so I figure I might as well go back to the beginning and watch it in full!
I was pretty much obsessed with the Halliwell sisters when I was growing up. This was back when we had video recorders so I used to tape all the episodes (on those chunky cassettes!) and watch them over and over again! I think it was around Season 6 when I kind of just stopped watching the show. More than ten years later, I’m feeling nostalgic and want to relive all those magical moments!
Romeo & Juliet
Starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Claire Danes, this is one of those films I’ve always said I’d watch but never got around to actually seeing. I’ve never seen any screen version of this classic tale so it should be interesting.
A film that’s (just a little bit) older than me! This is also another one that I’ve never seen. It’s a dark high-school drama and it’s supposed to be a bit of a cult classic so I’m looking forward to watching it.
The Bounty Hunter
You may or may not remember/have even heard of this 2010 film with Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. It’s a fairly standard rom-com about a bounty hunter (surprisingly enough!) whose latest assignment is to track down a bail-jumping reporter who just so happens to be his ex-wife. It got average ratings and reviews but there’s a particular reason it’s on my list now: The Bounty Hunter was the first film L and I went to see together when we started going out. I’ve decided we just have to watch it together again and since it’s our fifth anniversary this month, I’d say that’s pretty good timing!
