My Birthday Weekend!

I turned 26 over the weekend and I’ve had so much fun celebrating these past couple of days!

We’d decided earlier in the month to spend some time in Dublin city centre so we headed there Saturday morning. As soon as we checked in to our hotel, we were off again to go shopping! We spent hours trawling the streets and browsing in all the shops. If you follow me on Instagram, you can get a sneak peek of what I picked up in Lush — my review will be up later this week ;-).

For dinner that evening, we went to GBK. I got the pulled pork and rosemary fries (oh and some wine!) and it was absolutely gorgeous. I’d been on a proper healthy eating regime so I loved having an excuse to splurge over the weekend! I’m seriously considering doing a separate post featuring the amazing food we indulged in because there really was a whole lot of it!

Afterwards, we went for drinks. I must be getting old (!) because I wasn’t in the mood for any of the clubs and instead chose to head on to a local pub to finish off the evening. Then it was back to our hotel. We stayed at the Gresham on Upper O’Connell Street and it was such a lovely experience. It’s one of those hotels that has a really good reputation and it didn’t disappoint — I felt like a total princess in the bed, it was so incredibly comfy and impossible to get out of in the morning!

The next day, we checked out of the hotel and went for brunch in Avoca before heading home. Later that evening we were in my family home for dinner and I was spoiled with so many presents and a beautiful big homemade cake! The whole weekend was exactly what I wanted and I’m so happy and grateful that it went so well. Being 26 is off to the best possible start!
