Lush, Cupcakes & Candy Cane Vodka!

This weekend has been such a fun and festive one! We were constantly on the go; the past couple of days have passed by in a blur of sugar and shopping and now I feel like I could sleep straight for an entire day! Obviously that’s not an option because it’s all only really beginning now, isn’t it? I hope you’re all enjoying the season. I want to share some of my highlights from this weekend and would love to hear how you’ve all been preparing for the upcoming week!

How beautiful are these Lush gift sets? I’ll admit that I’m a little bit jealous that I don’t get to keep them! Although, at the same time, I’m really looking forward to seeing the recipients’ reactions because I think everyone loves a little bit of Lush! I spent ages studying the different sets because there is such a lovely range in-store. I even enlisted L’s help in the end and I think we chose really well!

While in Dublin, I picked up a box of cupcakes from Lolly & Cook’s. Amongst my selection were three of the cutest looking Christmas-y treats. There was gingerbread and lime topped with a mini gingerbread man; a candy cane cupcake consisted of a chocolate cupcake and vanilla (not mint?!) frosting and a mini candy cane; the tree cupcake also seemed to be vanilla frosting with something like a cinnamon and sultana cake. The gingerbread and lime was my absolute favourite — the flavours are just so perfect!

Also this weekend, I attempted to make Candy Cane Vodka! I literally just broke up a couple of full-sized candy canes, popped them in a jar and topped it up with pure vodka. Now I have no idea how it’s going to turn out but I’m going to let it sit for a day or two and report back! I think a candy cane cocktail would be really good so fingers crossed it works out!

  1. Loving all the things you have here! I find the smell in the Lush store to be a bit overpowering, so can’t spend long in there, but I love the stuff, and would be very happy to receive any of those gift sets you’ve bought (don’t tell me which one is for me, let it be a surprise!) 🙂

The candy cane vodka sounds great, if it works out well, you should make those for Christmas presents next year, buy those little bottles with the flip top seal (like on traditional Grolsch bottles), and tie a cane or two on the neck, a pretty label, done!

    Merry Christmas!

    1. Ha – Lush sets for everyone 🙂 That’s such a good idea about the candy cane vodka, they’d make really lovely gifts (if it turns out well!) Happy Christmas to you too! Also thank you for all the lovely comments you’ve left during the year 🙂
