At this time of the year, I’m all about the comfort food. Warm stodgy meals that fill you up are, in my mind, absolutely essential. It doesn’t always have to be complicated or time-consuming either. I love this simple little recipe for chorizo and red onion tarts. Over the weekend, I served these for dinner with sweet potato mash for a different take on the traditional pie and mash. They were a big hit – sure, what’s not to like about buttery shortcrust pastry filled with creamy, salty, savoury goodness? I took the leftovers for lunch the next day and they were just as good then. Not only are these so tasty, their portion size also makes them ideal for the upcoming party season. A winning dish all round!
