L’Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream

Who wouldn’t want flawless coverage, perfectly even skin texture and a fresh dewy glow? This is what L’Oreal’s Nude Magique CC Creams claim to offer, as well as 24 hour hydration and SPF 12 all in one little liquid.

It retails at about €15 but I picked mine up on special offer in Boots for around a tenner. I liked the sleek 30ml tubes and I chose the anti-fatigue option over anti-redness and anti-dullness as I thought that would suit my skin best.

Now I didn’t hear or read anything about the Nude Magique range before I bought the product so I had no idea what to expect. As you can imagine, I was pretty horrified then, when I decided to put it on for the first time at home and an almost neon orange liquid seeped out!

Out of sheer curiosity, I hesitantly went ahead and applied it to my face…and after scrutinizing my complexion in two different mirrors, I realised with relief that the product had adapted to my skin. It transformed to give me smooth and lightweight coverage and I didn’t end up looking like I could join the oompa-loompas at Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory (never a good look!).

However, having said that, it’s useful to know that these CC creams only come in one standard shade. Despite the fact that I’m naturally tanned, this was still just a touch too dark for me so if you’re naturally fair, I don’t think these would be ideal at all.

I bought this CC cream to wear during the day and I’ll continue to use it because I think with a light application and some careful blending, it can still look good. It’s quite runny which makes it easy to apply and a little goes a long way so I’m happy enough as I figure this will do me ’til the end of the year (btw: how are we nearly in 2014?!).
