Shocking Vision From Inside Burning Plane That Left 41 People Dead

Passenger plane with fire on board lands at Moscow airport

When the engines touched the runway fire broke out and passengers were seen fleeing from the stricken Sukhoi Superjet.

After making an emergency landing at the airport, the plane's engines caught fire on the runway, Aeroflot said in a statement.

The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed that there were 78 people, including crew members, aboard the Sukhoi Superjet, and that 41 people were killed in the incident.

"I pushed out the passengers", Ms Kasatkina said, adding that she had to "grab each of them by the collar".

The plane, a Sukhoi Superjet 100 that was reportedly on its way to the Arctic city of Murmansk, took off from the airport at about 5 p.m. local time, according to CNN International.

Tributes are placed on Monday, May 6, 2019, next to the sign of the last flight of the Sukhoi SSJ100 aircraft of Aeroflot Airlines, after it made an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo airport, outside Moscow. It pledged to follow the Russian investigation into the disaster closely.

"But I really want to ask them not to persecute them, I am sure that it is very hard for them now".

It is used on domestic flights, and Russian officials are said to be keen for Aeroflot to buy more of the planes.

A number of flights have been diverted from Sheremetyevo to other airports following the crash.

Tesla's share price has fallen close to 30% in the last six months as investors have grown concerned about the company's future. BofA Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank Securities, Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse are the additional book-running managers.

Both flight recorders have today been recovered, which will allow investigators to examine what went wrong aboard a plane which pilot Denis Evdokimov - and some passengers - said had been hit by lightning.

Aeroflot, Russia's national carrier, revealed that the plane was forced to return to the Sheremetyevo airport due to technical reasons, but it failed to survive the emergency landing.

Mikhail Savchenko was on board the Aeroflot plane which burst into flames after it made a hard landing shortly after take-off from Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. Five people were taken to the hospital. The reason why the pilots decided to make an emergency landing has not been announced.

The Interfax news agency cited a source as saying the plane succeeded in making an emergency landing on the second attempt and that some of the aircraft's systems had then failed. A Defense Ministry plane heading for a Russian air base in Syria in 2016 plunged into the Black Sea, killing all 92 people on board, including most of the country's Red Army Choir.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had offered his condolences to the victims' loved ones, the Kremlin said.

Three days of mourning have been declared in the Murmansk region.

Russian transport minister Yevgeny Dietrich said 41 bodies have been recovered from the burned wreckage.

The crash-landing on Sunday is the latest serious setback for the plane, the first new passenger jet developed in Russian Federation since the fall of the Soviet Union, and threatens to undermine confidence in an airliner Moscow touts as proof it can produce its own high quality civil passenger aircraft.
