Five things we've learned about the Mueller report

Mueller report finds no proof of collusion with Russia or obstruction of justice by Trump

News of the fact that Mueller's investigation did not find any evidence of alleged collusion between Trump's campaign staff and Russian Federation, and that Mueller's team has no plans to issue any new indictments, left the president's supporters cheering and gleefully mocking their detractors.

Mueller's investigation brought charges against 34 people, including Russian agents and former key allies of Trump, such as campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former security adviser Mike Flynn and his personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

Questioned were also raised why Mueller, a well-regarded former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, never interviewed the president, which, according to legal experts, could have been crucial to establishing obstruction allegations, and which Trump's lawyers had dreaded fearing he would perjure himself, given his propensity for falsehood.

But it marked the beginning of a new phase, the determination of Democrats in Congress to further investigate Trump, using the evidence from the Mueller probe.

Mueller's court filings already showed a number of top Trump aides had contact with Russians during the campaign and after the election and that some of them lied about it.

Michael Zeldin, a former assistant to Mueller at the Justice Department, said the special counsel was communicating it was a "close call" on whether to prosecute for obstruction. Mueller has left it to the attorney general to take a final call on whether a crime was committed.

The attorney general said that it was his conclusion, in consultation with others, that evidence developed by the Mueller investigation was not sufficient enough to "establish that the president committed an obstruction-of-justice offense".

But quoting directly from Mr Mueller's report, Mr Barr said that the special counsel's investigation "did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities".

They want the full Mueller report and they are demanding the underlying evidence supporting his conclusions.

"It's a shame that our country had to go through this".

Time for USA to recognize Israel's sovereignty over Golan Heights
Trump's decision has been building up for several weeks now, a senior administration official tells CNN. Pompeo's words gave a public boost to the Israeli leader at the height of a tight re-election campaign.

The Russia allegations had cast a shadow over Mr Trump's presidency and his chances of re-election in 2020.

"And hopefully, somebody is going to look at the other side".

But none of the charges has directly addressed the question of whether there was coordination between Trump's associates and Russian officials.

"No collusion and no obstruction". Many Republicans also want the report released and say it will vindicate Trump.

Mr Barr said in his letter to Congress that he was mindful of the public's interest in the full report and was working on determining how much he can release in case some of the material is or could be put before a grand jury. Barr has decided not to bring obstruction of justice charges against Trump to impede the investigation.

Mueller "clearly and explicitly is not exonerating the President, said Rep". Given Mr. Barr's public record of bias against the Special Counsel's inquiry, he is not a neutral observer and is not in a position to make objective determinations about the report.

US intelligence agencies concluded shortly before Trump took office in January 2017 that Moscow meddled in the election with a campaign of email hacking and online propaganda aimed at sowing discord in the United States, hurting Clinton and helping Trump.

Democrat Jerry Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced that he would be calling Barr to testify in the near future.

"AG Barr and DAG Rosenstein further determined there was no obstruction". According to Barr's letter, the Special Counsel issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed almost 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communication records, made 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses.
