2 kin of Christchurch victims die after killings

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced Thursday that New Zealand would immediately ban semi-automatic weapons, assault rifles and other military-style arms in the wake of Friday's shootings.

In fact nothing proves the extent to which the New Zealand PM considers last week's atrocity as a personal tragedy than the special memorial she joined the country's Muslim organisations to arrange yesterday in honour of the slain victims of last Friday's shooting.

Dubai ruler thanks Jacinda Ardern, NZ for showing support, empathy towards Muslims following the attack.

"We want to prevent another New Zealand", said Gouled Hussein, who helped moderate the discussion.

Notably, at least 50 people were killed and several others injured after a gunman opened fire at a crowded mosque in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, during afternoon prayers on Friday last week. The prayer was followed by two minutes of silence.

Guterres said the attack in New Zealand was "utterly appalling" but "perhaps not utterly surprising", citing the rise of anti-Muslim hatred, anti-Semitism and bigotry.

When prayers ended Friday, almost 40 community members met with Portland Mayor Ethan Strimling and interim Police Chief Vern Malloch to talk about mosque safety.

"The service will be a chance to once again show that New Zealanders are compassionate, inclusive and diverse, and that we will protect those values", Ardern said in a statement.

Bianca Andreescu's ranking to skyrocket after Indian Wells
Andreescu started the third set much better, holding in her first two service games including coming back from 0-30 to go up 2-1. Osaka used it as a springboard to win titles at the US and Australian opens while ascending to the No. 1 ranking in January.

"I could feel the bullets hitting the people and I could feel the blood coming down on me from the people who were shot", he said.

Police subsequently took over the mosques for investigations and security reasons, but handed them back to the Muslim community on Saturday. "We are determined to not let anyone divide us", he added, as the crowd erupted with applause. Australian Brenton Tarrant, 28, a suspected white supremacist, has been charged with one murder following the attack and was remanded without a plea.

Less than a week after the deadly mosque shootings in New Zealand, the prime minister there moved fast to change gun laws.

During the Friday sermons, hundreds of mosques throughout the country gave messages of unity and underscored that terrorists aimed to separate the society by spreading fear.

"They came running. they were crying, they were in tears", he said of his neighbors when they found out that Husna had died.

Salt spoke with USA Today ahead of Virginia's NCAA tournament debut Friday about the difference between how New Zealand and the United States respond to gun violence.

Thank you to the New Zealand Government and to all the wonderful people who have shown us that we matter and are not forgotten.
