Yeddyurappa's remark reveals 'deceitful and shameless motive' of BJP: Congress

BSP chief Mayawati on Thursday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his proposed address to BJP workers through a mega video-conference terming it'ridiculous and betrayal of national sentiments amid escalating tension between India and Pakistan

Yeddyurappa said Narendra Modi will be the prime minister for a second term with a full majority after the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, reported The New Indian Express.

He also said that as union minister, Sushma Swaraj, already convened an all-party meeting and gave full details of what happened, the question of reaping any political benefit does not arise. I have highest regard for our armed forces. He said the wind was "increasingly blowing in favour of the BJP" and the air strikes have led to a "pro-Modi wave" in the country.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the party of Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Thursday cited remarks by Bharatiya Janata Party leader BS Yeddyurappa to say that those "desperate to win an election" should be isolated. "This is not the first time that I said the BJP in Karnataka will win a minimum of 22 seats under the able leadership of Modiji".

During his interaction with the BJP workers, Prime Minister Modi also urged them to use social media as a tool to make people aware of the various initiatives of the central government. Is winning elections becoming the criteria for BJP and not the security of India.

His comments came on a day Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by the Pakistani military after they downed one MiG 21. Bowing before Indias military might and successful foreign policy, Pakistan is on its knees and has announced the release of our courageous pilot Abhinandan from its captivity. "At this moment, we as a nation need to spend all our energies and time to get the IAF pilot back safely and to sternly deal with Pakistan". The government also demanded that Pakistan return the IAF pilot immediately.
