China, Russia Agree to Strengthen Cooperation amid Trade Conflicts with US

Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin

The Kremlin said on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had not yet received a response from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to his proposal to sign a peace treaty by the end of the year, Tass news agency reported.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon arrived in Vladivostok on Monday to attend an annual global economic forum and hold meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Speaking at an economic conference in Russia's Far East, Putin suggested that Russian Federation and Japan sign the treaty this year and solve the territorial dispute later.

Last year, China and Russia held their first joint naval drill in the Baltic Sea and this month China will send 3,200 troops, 900 pieces of weaponry and 30 aircrafts to take part in a Russian military exercise.

The annual EEF was established by a Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in 2015 for the objective of encouraging foreign investment in the Russian Far East, which has land borders with China and North Korea, as well as maritime borders with Japan and the US.

Upon departing for Vladivostok, Abe had said he hoped "to make progress in resolving the territorial dispute and sealing a peace treaty".

"Our stance on that score has remained unchanged", the source noted.

A Japanese Foreign Ministry official remained somewhat perplexed by Putin's remark.

The drastic change in the price of dollar versus rupee should definitely affect the India pricing of newer models. Apple is expected to launch a supersized version of the iPhone X called the iPhone XS Max with a 6.5-inch screen.

On Monday, Mr Putin seemed to pour cold water on suggestions that the dispute could be resolved soon.

Abe also said after a meeting with Putin in Vladivostok that the head of Japan's Self-Defence Forces would visit Russian Federation in October.

Abe reiterated his desire to meet Kim himself to resolve the matter of Japanese citizens kidnapped by Pyongyang's agents decades ago, but said nothing had been decided yet.

"This is called trolling".

Abe smiled at the suggestion.

"Both Abe and Putin say they want a solution to the dispute". The two leaders have launched various economic projects on the islands in areas such as the farming of fish and shellfish, wind-generated energy, and tourism.

Xi and Putin, among others, watched a video of the days when the Chinese boys and girls lived in the care center 10 years ago.
