'Cowardly,' 'cry for help': Reactions to anonymous Trump official's op-ed

Anonymous official cites Trump ‘amorality’ in NY Times op-ed

Just this week, excerpts released from Bob Woodward's forthcoming book "Fear: Trump in the White House " revealed how, back in January, Trump attorney John Dowd conducted a mock interview with the president seeking to persuade him that speaking to Mueller was a bad idea.

Actually, Guthrie's question was a softball, giving Woodward a chance to explain, somewhat confusingly, that his sources might be anonymous but the "incidents" are not.

Not only does Trump fail to understand how treason is defined in Article 3, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution-he lacks even a rudimentary understanding of journalistic ethics.

Memes ascribe the column to everyone from Tiffany Trump and the Easter Bunny to the First Lady Melania Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

Woodward wrote in his book that Cohn was "appalled" that Trump might sign the letter, and reportedly said, "I stole it off his desk".

"People who work for him are anxious that he will sign things or give orders that threaten the national security or the financial security of the country or the world".

Trump called it a "gutless editorial", but his public anger was initially directed more toward The Times than the piece's author, whom he dismissed as someone who's probably "failing" at his job and is in the administration "for all the wrong reasons".

Whether customers will actually do what they say they intend to do or their anger quickly fizzles out isn't easily determined. The campaign includes video ads and billboards, like one displayed atop a Nike store in downtown San Francisco on Wednesday.

In his book, Woodward, who shot to fame more than 40 years ago for his reporting on the Watergate political scandal, portrays Trump as prone to profane outbursts and impulsive decision-making, with top aides anxious the United States is one Trump tweet away from a national or economic security crisis.

Trump's White House is reeling from Bob Woodward's well-sourced book detailing dysfunction and the brink of emergency in his administration.

But the members of the Trump White House team are damaged by voluntarily working in Crazytown and many will have talked to Mr Woodward for reasons of self-preservation.

That's a big deal - especially because it confirms much of the daily reporting that has come out of this White House since Trump became President 19 months ago. Many have already come forward to say the quotes by them, like the book, are fiction.

Woodward said in the interview with CBS Sunday Morning, 'People who work for him are anxious - that he will sign things or give orders that threaten the national security or financial security of the country or of the world'.

"The individual behind this piece has chosen to deceive, rather than support, the duly elected President of the United States", the statement said. Dems can't stand losing. "I'll write the real book!" He accused the media of trying to undermine the Trump administration and said he found that "incredibly disturbing".

On NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday, White House adviser Kellyanne Conway admitted: "I didn't bring the request to the president directly". The Times said a person at the private event provided the paper with an audio recording of Mulvaney's remarks.
