Odell Beckham Jr. agrees to record deal with Giants

According to reports, Beckham Jr.'s new deal is worth $95 million, including $65 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo tweeted that the five years are added on to the end of Beckham's current rookie contract, which ends after this season, meaning the 25-year-old, three-time Pro Bowler is signed through 2023. "It's a very fair deal".

Beckham's new deal averages $19 million per season, which is significantly more than the $17 million per year Antonio Brown gets from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Beckham, 25, missed most of a year ago after suffering a fractured ankle just four games into the season, as the Giants struggled as a team going 3-13.

In April, new NY head coach Pat Shurmur said he had been in frequent contact with Beckham, both via phone conversations and text messages, and that they were engaged in open and honest conversations. "You've worked all your life to get to this point and it's finally here".

"I'm just so happy that it is finally done now", Beckham said.

The contract extension marked the best-case resolution for Beckham who had his Giants future in doubt after a hard offseason. He has finished in the top 10 in the National Football League in both catches and receiving yards three times, ranks second among all active players in receiving yards per game (94.1) and 24th among active players in receiving touchdowns.

Beckham, who in his first four seasons caught 313 passes for 4,424 yards and 38 touchdowns, felt getting a new deal would be just a matter of time.
